Throwing Spaghetti at the Wall: March 2025
A collection of weird & wonderful things that I'm using for March inspiration.
I recently stumbled across an Etsy store with the bio “I only sell things I can’t resist buying” and have since decided that it will be my sourcing mantra for the rest of the year. I sometimes find myself sourcing pieces that I wouldn’t necessarily wear/buy for myself, but I know will sell. That’s not a bad thing, but this year, I’m trying to source less and be more intentional with what/how I source. I’m challenging myself to apply this mantra to everything I buy for the remainder of the year (and maybe longer)!
Another idea I find myself gravitating towards is putting in the extra effort to find aesthetically pleasing replacements for “boring” things, typically for the home. Why buy ugly bag clips when you can buy these $3 fish clips from Boston General Store (everything they make is amazing)? Or dish towels from Target when you can buy antique French linen towels for a similar price? Or, god forbid, let your tissue box be naked when it can be swathed in toile for $14? The extra time it takes to find an item that is both practical and aesthetic is worth it and it’s often more sustainable and/or supports small businesses. Vote with your dollars !!!!!!

I’ve recently felt more inspired by home goods/housewares than clothing (probably because I have so much clothing already?!) and that is reflected in my March inspo! Stay tuned for more Spaghetti home pieces ;)
Onward to March inspo, starting with a chaotic collage of images I saved in February:
Needlepoint everything.
I credit the incredible Diana Eden of Woolsey Wool for awakening a newfound appreciation of needlepoint with the handmade needlepoint jackets she was selling at Thrift & Gift. This led me down an eBay rabbit hole of needlepoint everything - horses, cowboys, poodles, fruit, you name it. Be warned: there’s a fine line between kitschy and Americana charm with needlepoint, but I say embrace it! Diana’s jacket that started it all:
A few other framed needlepoint pieces:

Vintage horse ($59 on eBay), 1970s cowgirl ($89 on Etsy), vintage Schnauzer ($59 on eBay). Safe to say you can expect more needlepoint from Spaghetti!
Someone needs this:
Orange
This skirt by Colleen Allen is incredible. At $750, it’s out of my budget, but it did make me want to incorporate more orange into my life. Very into the beanie/skirt combo!
And the white details on the back slit:
A few pops of orange for well under $750:

Vintage Anne Klein suede bag ($68 on eBay), handmade wool beanie with the perfect orange stripe ($92 on Etsy), vintage Abercrombie & Fitch wool sweater ($29 on eBay).
Last but not least, I will be haunted (in a good way) by this unexpected green/orange sink combo:
Antique Linens
As aforementioned, these are a great alt for dish towels. Most of the antique linens I like are from France and come with embroidered initials. Why did we stop doing this!? A few great options below.

Antique French linen towels with “AM” embroidery ($39 each on eBay), Antique flax tea towel ($37 OBO on eBay), pair of antique French tea towels with “WC” embroidery, perfect for your water closet ;) ($56 OBO on eBay).
Statement Soap Dishes
In my efforts to use less plastic, I have started using bars of soap for handwashing. Vintage soap dishes are cheap and have a lot of personality!

Vintage bathtub soap dish ($22 on eBay), vintage hand painted fish soap dish ($33 on Etsy), MCM soap dish ($22 on Etsy).
These are exceptional….

Lucite Purses

Green lucite bag ($75 on Poshmark), vintage bird purse w/ lucite handle, perfect for the lucite curious ($60 on Etsy, if you don’t buy it I may), metallic brown lucite bag ($45 on eBay).
Honorable mentions include Madeira linen cowboy napkins ($240 for 8 on eBay) , a vintage wicker fish bag ($75 on Poshmark, Simon Miller is selling a modern one for $195), and vintage embroidered horse pillow cases ($15 for the pair on eBay, a steal!).

Happy SHOPPING!
